Does OpenAI put a watermark in ChatGPT text?
This tool does not claim that OpenAI confirms an active text watermark. It strips invisible and ambiguous Unicode characters that often appear in pasted chat output so the text is cleaner to format and share.
Will this help text pass AI detectors?
No. This page does not target detector scores. It only removes or normalizes characters in your browser. A detector result is a separate product we do not sell or promise.
What does the free clean change?
By default it removes zero-width and format characters and turns narrow no-break spaces into regular spaces. Em dashes, curly quotes, and ellipsis stay unless you opt in, because those change visible text.
Is my paste uploaded?
No. The surface clean runs as client-side JavaScript on this device. Nothing from this pass is sent to a server.
What is the character limit?
The free check matches the rest of the site: 15,000 characters with no account, or 25,000 per check after you sign in. Signed-in users can also clean .docx files from the dashboard scan tool.
Does this rewrite my sentences?
No. The ChatGPT page uses the same surface cleaner as the homepage. Deep Clean is a separate signed-in rewrite and is not required here.
